I Went to Get a Drink (a Custom 404 Story)

By the pool for now

After weeks of relentless work, deadlines, and meetings that seemed to merge one into the next, I felt the weight of exhaustion pressing down. The kind of tiredness that seeps into mybones, making every task feel like an uphill battle. Recognizing the need for a respite, a moment to recharge and find solace, I decided to step away from the chaos of my routine.

It was a gloriously sunny afternoon, the kind where the sun painted everything in a golden hue, promising warmth and a gentle caress against my skin (don’t worry – I have sunblock on). The idea of a tropical drink by the poolside, where the water shimmered invitingly under the sun’s gaze, seemed like the perfect escape for me. So, with a sense of antici-pation, I made my way down, leaving behind the confines of work and the digital world to relax for a while.

As I approached the pool, the sound of gentle waves lapping against the edge and the soft rustle of palm leaves in the gentle breeze welcomed me with open arms. The pool area was an oasis of tranquility, with sun loungers dotted around, some occupied by others seeking a quiet retreat, and others waiting to offer comfort to weary souls.

I then found a cozy spot, one that offered both the warmth of the sun and the cool shade of a towering palm. The air was filled with the subtle, sweet scent of tropical flowers, and I could hear the distant, melodious chatter of birds, adding to the serene ambiance.

A nice tropical drink to consume.

Now ordering a tropical drink seems like an unspoken ritual in this slice of paradise. It was something exotic, a vibrant concoction of fresh fruits, a hint of coconut, and a splash of rum, served in a whimsical glass that promised a taste of the tropics. When the drink arrived, adorned with a slice of pineapple and a miniature umbrella, it was more than just a beverage; it was an invitation to relax and savor the moment.

With the first sip: A robust of sweet, refreshing flavors danced on my palate, transporting me to distant shores where the sea kissed the white sandy beaches, and the worries of the world seemed a million miles away. It was a moment of bliss, a much-needed pause that brought a sense of peace and contentment.

As I settled in, the soft strains of music began to fill the air, a blend of gentle tropical rhythms and familiar tunes played with a laid-back vibe. It was the kind of music that made me want to close my eyes and drift away, letting the melodies carry on a journey of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Time seemed to stand still for a while. Soothing music, the warmth of the sun, and the cool embrace of the pool water every now and then made for an idyllic respite. It was a great time to reflect, to let go of the stresses that had accumulated, and to simply be in the moment, enjoying the simple pleasures.

Sunset by the pool

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting long shadows and painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, I felt a profound sense of gratitude. The tiredness that had once weighed heavily on me had lifted, replaced by a renewed energy and a calmness of spirit.

The decision to step away, to take this time for myself by the pool with a tropical drink in hand, turned out to be the perfect remedy. It was a reminder that sometimes, the best way to find strength and inspiration is to pause, breathe, and immerse oneself in the beauty of the present moment.

But now I am in the bathroom. I’ll be out soon.

1993 – Microsoft released another Operating System to focus the business. NT 3.1 was the first release in the NT series. NT stood for “N-Ten,” the codename of the Intel i860 XR processor for which NT was initially developed. The NT kernal was different than the Windows 3.x version. It implemented the Win32 API, or 32 bit programming. Windows NT also was for the business. It didn’t push multimedia like it’s home counterpart.
