1999 – Sixteen years after “Return of the Jedi”, George Lucas finally moves his vision forward with “Star Wars: Episode I – the Phantom Menace”. The story of young Anakin Skywalker and how Obi-Wan Kenobi brought him in, trained him, and ultimately lost him to the dark side. Episode I grossed over $924.3 million worldwide and became one of the highest-grossing films of 1999. The 2nd set trilogy would continue with Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The movie was received with warm reviews. The general consensus was the character development lacked while the scenes, characters, and landscapes were breathtaking....

March 18, 2008: LimeWire Tries to go Legal

2008 – The free peer-to-peer file sharing program who was under major fire decided to set up a fully legal DRM music store. With over 500,000 MP3’s from artists who are not on any major labels, the store allowed you to get lossless versions of this music.  They planned a party at SXSW 2008 . Downloads were on a pay-per-track pricing – from 30 cents (on up) per song. There were no mention of  how much an artist could get from those prices. May 19, 1980: Apple III (aka “Apple Failure III”)

1980 – The machine was code named “Sara”. It was the Apple III and was planned to be the successor to the Apple II. However, the machine had enough failures that Apple had to re-launch this computer in August. Therefore, it was refered to as “Apple Failure III”. Then IBM came out with the PC and Apple switched gears with their Macintosh line. Apple III saw modest numbers before it was retired on April 24th, 1984. March 18, 2002: First sponsored top-level Domain .AERO Begins Registration

2002– The .aero domain, or domain on aviation, begins registering. The first resolution of the .aero domain would happen on Sept 2nd. Of course, aero is a derivative of Aeronautics and is the first sponsored top-level domain. Three letter codes were airports (example: LAX.aero = Los Angeles airport). The initial trial of .aero was under a 5 year contract that continued to extended until 2019.
