March 20, 1916: The Foundation of the General Theory of Relativity

1916 – Albert Einstein sent a paper off to Annelen Der Physik. The paper was called “Die Grundlage der Allgemeinen Relativitatstheorie” – translated as “The Foundation of the General Theory of Relativity”. The paper included the Principle considerations about the Postulate of Relativity, Mathmatical auxiliiaries for establishing the general covariant equations, theory of gravitational fields, and Newton’s theory as first approximation. For years thereafter, people studied this theory and tried to prove or disprove it. March 28, 2000: BeOS Version 5 Maui Launched

2000 – BeOS version 5 was launched. Code named “Maui”, this OS is often cloned for the GUI desktop for GNOME. BeOS went to ver. 5.1 before it was acquired by Palm. March 20, 2005: Yahoo Acquires Photo Site Flickr

2005– Yahoo acquires Ludicorp and the popular photo sharing site Flickr. No details were released on this purchase. On Yahoo’s blog they outline that Flickr will continue to run as-is, while Yahoo Photos will incorporate some of the ideals into it’s site. The biggest issue from the deal was that Ludicorp was based in Vancouver, therefore when the data transfered to Yahoo servers the week of June 25th, it became subject to US federal law.
