March 28, 2000: Be OS v.5 Maui

2000 – BeOS version 5 was launched. Code named “Maui”, this OS is often cloned for the GUI desktop for GNOME. BeOS went to ver. 5.1 before it was acquired by Palm. There is an Open Source version called “Haiku”.
