1975 – Gordon French and Fred Moore put together the first Homebrew Computer Club in Menlo Park, CA. The group was put together to discuss the Altair home kit, as well as talk about building computers in general. Of course, the most important meeting was Steve Wozniak who brought the first Apple computer, meeting Steve Jobs.

1976 – Steve Wozniak, an employee at Hewlett Packard (at the time), builds his first computer motherboard. He showed it off at the Homebrew club, where he was inspired. Steve Jobs meets up with Woz, where he convinces him to keep the design (not to sell it). They will then join up to create the Apple 1 computer.

MegaUpload

2012 – Federal prosecutors shut down the file-sharing site MegaUpload.com. People that visited the site saw a FBI Anti-piracy takedown notice. The seized website mentions MegaUpload was accused of conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to commit copyright infringement, conspiracy to commit money laundering and criminal copyright infringement.

2013 – Kim Dot Com starts the website “Mega”

1983 – at an introductory price of $9995, Apple introduces the Lisa computer – the first computer with a GUI (Graphical User Interface). The computer featured a 5 MHz 68000 microprocessor, 1 MB RAM, 12″ monochrome monitor, dual 5.25″ 860 KB floppy drives, a 5 MB hard drive and more. Lisa cost Apple Computer US$50 million to develop. The software for it cost Apple Computer US$100 million to develop.“Lisa” is an acronym for Local Integrated Software Architecture.

1996 – Apple had been declining in the last few years. With Michael Spindler at the helm and a host of problems with the failed Lisa project, the company had been dealing with loss after loss. The $68 Million first quarter loss was a wake up call for Apple to change guard. On Feb 2nd, Gil Amelio would replace Michael Spindler as CEO, who in turn would bring Steve Jobs back into the mix and ultimately loose that position to the former CEO.
